Reporting Policies specifically help protect the institution from legal and reputational risks by addressing issues before they escalate. Additionally, this policy ensures compliance with federal and state regulations that may require mechanisms for reporting and responding to misconduct, e.g., Clery Act, Title IX, financial fraud, etc.
Nonretaliation Policies demonstrate the institution’s commitment to ethical conduct, which builds trust among students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Institutions typically have this language in policies such as Title IX Policy and Nondiscrimination Policy. But there are other reportable situations aside from these laws and stakeholders need to know that they will not face repercussions if they report their concerns.
Attendees will be able to:
- Grasp why these policies are necessary
- Gain a clear understanding of each component within these policies
Attendees will be provided with a template example of these policies that can be customized for their specific institutional needs.
